Offline and background listening
Prepare a recording before travelling, confirm it is downloaded and understand how background audio differs from a web preview.
NatureScapes editorial
The NatureScapes app includes offline downloads and background playback. These are app features: the short preview on this website is a separate promotional player and is not a download of the full original recording.
Prepare while you are online
Choose a scene or soundscape in the app and use its download option where available to your account. Let the download finish before leaving a reliable connection. Downloads are available through the app’s Library; check the item there rather than assuming that a favorite has also been downloaded.
Check before a journey
Open the downloaded item and confirm it plays. If you want to test offline use, briefly turn off your connection when it is safe to do so, then restore your normal connection afterward. Allow enough device storage for the content you choose.
Listen with the screen aside
Background playback lets a sound continue while you use your iPhone for something else or leave the screen off. The app can also play beneath other audio, although behavior depends on iOS and the other app. If another app takes over the sound, try a different combination and check its audio settings.
If something does not work
Note the recording title, what you tried, your iPhone model, iOS version and NatureScapes version. Tell support whether the issue concerns downloading, finding a download or playing it. This is more useful than sharing account passwords or payment details.
